Almost 50 years since the first launch, the Adidas Athen trainers are heading back to the shelves as a limited edition.
The all-round sports shoe, an early City Series design, was launched back in 1968 to coincide with the Olympics, but inspired by the country that brought us the Olympics, hence the blue and white colours of Greece and the name of its capital city, finished off with a gum sole. A timeless design.
It is rarely reissued in the modern era and was last seen back in 2004. So demand for this latest reissue is certain to be fierce. Details of sales are actually quite vague, but they will be landing this month (October) and you would expect then to be around the £70 mark if you can get a pair.
When details are fully confirmed, we will update the article.
