A welcome reissue a couple of months back and now the 1970s Adidas Cadet trainers are in the sale.
It was released back in 1974 and as far as I can remember, it hasn’t been seen on the shelves for quite some years. Which is why I’m so surprised it is here now.
Looking not unlike the Adidas Rekord, which was reissued last year, this was an affordable all-rounder back in the day, with extra padding on the tongue and to protect the heel and Achilles tendon. These days it’s just a great piece of vintage-style sportswear.
It’s also back in the same colour scheme as the original too. There is an alternative colour, but for me, the white leather with red and blue stripes, as well as a blue heel is where it’s at. This is a shoe that still looks the part almost 50 years on.
Also present is the suede toe piece and the slim sole that only adds to the look. Yes, I am a fan of this one.
If you want a pair you want to get yourself to the Size? Sale, which has just discounted the shoe in most sizes. Once up for £70, you can now get a pair for £55. But don’t hang around – these will sell through.

Just got the last pair of 10.5s 🙂 – Tried to order another pair as back-up and it said OUT OF STOCK. £55 – well pleased. Many thanks.
Reminiscent of the Adidas Oasis wore on stage first tour I believe.
