There are two versions of this, so it all depends which colour you prefer for Duke Reid Rock’s Steady on heavyweight vinyl.
The album is much the same. This is a heavyweight reissue of a classic, celebrating the 50th year anniversary of the Trojan label in the UK with the first album released on it. Other classics all follow throughout the year.
Titled incorrectly as ‘Duke Reid Rock’s Steady’, the collection was produced to showcase the productions of legendary Treasure Isle Records boss, Arthur ‘Duke’ Reid, picking out the best of Reid’s output from the preceding months. A hugely popular release, it was a sell out in both Jamaica and the UK and as such, became something of a collector’s item.
Until now that is. The album is released on orange vinyl directly from Trojan or on black vinyl elsewhere. So take your pick or if you really want to go for it, pick up both. As for price, both versions are around the £20 mark. Track listing below.
