The Adidas Gazelle trainers bowling shoe edition has landed on the shelves – and I think that’s the first time it has happened.
I could be wrong as the Gazelle has been around since the 1960s and in various finishes over the 50+ years. But I don’t recall ever seeing this version.
Adidas has done classic bowling shoes in the past – you might recall the Adidas x Jeremy Scott bowling shoes, which are always popular when they appear on eBay. Others too, which again, tend to be popular when they appear for sale. So I expect these might well be of interest too.
Of course, it isn’t an actual bowling shoe. This is a classic Adidas Gazelle reissue and with a shape that’s based on a vintage silhouette. The pull at the heel is the giveaway there. But the colours used give it the look of a bowling shoe.
Not just that, this version replaces the usual suede upper with a leather one. Add to that the contrasting serrated 3-Stripes in red and blue, suede on the toe box and to finish things off, the gold Gazelle branding and a rubber sole.
It might be a shoe that divides option. Colour and something a little different often does. But if you like them, you will want a pair.
If that happens to be you, they are just on the shelves now, selling for £90.
