This is an interesting and rarely-seen reissue. The return of the Adidas Rekord trainers to the shelves.
The Adidas Rekord? It’s a shoe that has been around since the 1950s in some form or another, although the silhouette has been tweaked over the years, especially in more recent reissues
Not massively. A slight variation of the sole, a slightly chunkier top and heel, but otherwise this is the same Rekord. Saying that there is a difference in terms of the name.
The new Rekord doesn’t actually say Rekord on the side. In fact, one seller of these has them listed with a new name (the Overdub). But the majority of sellers have these as the Rekord. Because that’s what it is.
A lovely reissue too in a couple of eye-catching finishes. Take your pick from a white with green detailing or a blue with white detailing. They both look the part.
What you get with both is a leather upper, fairly slim sole, contrast detailing and branding to the heel. The distinctive suede toe as well on these.
At £65 they are priced well in comparison to a lot of Adidas reissues and both styles are available now if you want to invest.
Note that these are also available at Stuarts of London for a slightly cheaper price. But not much in it. Some sizes have already gone there too.
