For anyone 'up north' and at a loose end on New Year's Eve, Brighton Beach is returning to the Cockpit in Leeds on that particular night.
The formula is much as toy would expect. In the main room, original DJ Red Helen will be playing indie and Britpop alongside classic 60s soul, Motown, R&B and garage, throwing in the countdown to Big Ben’s chimes at midnight.
In the second room, lit with psychedelic oil wheels and 60s slide projections, original DJ (and one of the mod scene's finest) Mark Ellis plus special guests will be playing tunes covering classic soul, R&B, garage and psych (and more) from the 1960s. All from original vinyl naturally.
Tickets are on sale now, with The Cockpit selling the first 200 Early Bird tickets for £7. Miss those and it is £12 in advance. The date is Saturday 31st December, the time is 9am – 3am and the address is The Cockpit, Swinegate, Leeds.
