If you can’t afford the pricey market leader then you could check out the extra fine merino polo shirts at Uniqlo.
The market leader is, of course, John Smedley and if you can afford some John Smedley you should consider going for that. But the prices tend to be high and as such, cheaper alternatives might be worth considering.
One cheaper alternative is the online John Smedley Outlet, which has a lot of stock constantly turning over. It’s a site worth keeping an eye on. But if nothing comes up there, you could opt for these more affordable knits at Uniqlo.
These are three-button polo shirts of the long-sleeve variety in four shades. It’s not a new design, but they only tend to be available in Uniqlo for a limited amount of time. They sell through quickly and for good reason.
They look the part and there is a good range of sizes available (from XXS through to 3XL). They are also constructed from a premium 19.5-micron merino wool with a special finishing process that prevents ‘pilling’ of the shirt.
With all of that in mind, £34.90 each seems like a reasonable price. But as I said, they do tend to sell out fairly quickly.
