We mentioned a short time back that he is behind a new Chess label compilation, but as well as that, you can also pick up a book too. That book is Don’t You Leave Me Here: My Life by Wilko Johnson.

The premise of the book is pretty straightforward. To quote the official write-up:

In 2013, Dr Feelgood founder, Blockheads member and musical legend Wilko Johnson was diagnosed with terminal cancer. With ten months to live, he decided to accept his imminent death and went on the road.

His calm, philosophical response made him even more beloved and admired. And then the strangest thing happened: he didn’t die.

Don’t You Leave Me Here is the story of his life in music, his life with cancer, and his life now – in the future he never thought he would see.

So that’s about it. Over 256 pages you get the life in the past, that difficult time with the potentially fatal cancer and his outlook on life right now. It sounds like a cracking read whether you are a fan of Dr Feelgood or Wilko or not. But it probably helps if you are.

The book is out in paperback, hardback and as a Kindle download, priced from £9.99 and available to pre-order now. It officially lands on 26th May 2016.
