Good news if you are making a Christmas list and know someone generous – The Kinks limited edition Mono vinyl box set.
Of course, a Mono Box Set was released in CD format a few years back, but this one takes things up a notch by going with vinyl and throwing in a few extras.
In total, you get 10 slices of vinyl from 1964 to 1969, all on 180g vinyl – the first eight albums in mono, including ‘Live At Kelvin Hall’ plus a bonus double LP compilation ‘The Kinks’ (aka ‘The Black Album’) along with a ‘lavish’ hardcover 48-page book including never-before-seen photos and new interviews with Ray Davies, Dave Davies and Mick Avory.
So that is:
· Kinks
· Kinda Kinks
· The Kink Kontroversy
· Face To Face
· Something Else By The Kinks
· Live at Kelvin Hall
· The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society
· Arthur (Or The Decline And Fall Of The British Empire)
· Kinks (2 LP Black Album)
Each box also has a 12 x 12-inch collectors print and the sets will bone limited to just the first run. Once they’re gone, they are indeed gone. So you might want to pre-order ahead of the 18th November 2016 release date.
You can pick it up at Amazon for £149.99 as a pre-order.
