A good time to buy a jacket right now, as they’ll be a lot cheaper now than in spring. Like the Fred Perry Reissues Made In England Harrington Jacket, which has dropped into the sale.
Yes, the jacket is on sale at one retailer, with a bolder version dropping in price at another retail outlet. It might be cold and wet outside, but when the weather picks up – and that won’t be long off now Christmas is out of the way – you’ll be struggling to get these at markdown prices.
So buy now while the price is low (and all sizes are available at a discounted price) and put aside for those warmer/drier months. Your future self will thank you for it. That is the rule for most ‘classics’ in the sale, if I’m honest.
And this is the Fred Perry take on a classic. Some people might prefer Baracuta (and there are some discounts to be had there), but for me, the Made in England Fred Perry is equally as good. With the added selling point of the Fred Perry Laurel Wreath if you have an affinity with that logo.
Detail-wise, there’s not much difference between the two. The Fred Perry jacket, available in a choice of black or navy blue, has a regular fit, the buttoned funnel neck, a water-resistant outer (so possibly good to go now with some layering underneath), a Stewart tartan lining, button pockets, and the Fred Perry logo on the chest.
It usually sells for £200 (or above in some places) but is in the sale at Stuart’s in all sizes for just £130 right now. As ever, get in quick before it sells through in the most popular sizes.
There’s one other design worth a mention too. The one picture above. This was a limited edition variation of the Fred Perry Harrington Jacket, going by the name of the Fred Perry Mie Pow Harrington Jacket and produced in a Prince Of Wales Check. That one originally sold for £299 but has dropped to £209 in the sale at End.
