If you want to turn heads at the local scooter club, this 1960s Waddington deerstalker crash helmet should help your cause.
Dating to around 1963 (see the original advert below), it mixes crash helmet with red and green tweed, throwing in ribbon tie earflaps that can be worn up or down. They were popular with the original mod movement of the era and as such, are quite sought after pieces, especially when they are in the condition that this one is in – ‘hardly any signs of ever being worn’, according to the seller.
This is said to have been an expensive helmet from the range, which is perhaps why it is in such good condition. It’s also sized large, around 57cm, should you be thinking of trying it for size.
Downside? The price of course. With rarity comes a large price tag, with this one available for £160. Might be a good investment in the long term though. Many more images on the listing and note that you might want to check out the safety of the helmet before actually using it on the road!
