Just nine hours to go for this – and Something Beginning With O book by Kevin Pearce on eBay is still at a reasonable price.
Long out of print, the book is something we have reviewed on Modculture in the past and rate highly.
It isn’t a long book at just 48 pages (although it is A4 in size). But this 1993 publication from Heavenly Books is a great write-up on pop culture, kicking off with mod and taking in northern soul, punk, post punk and indie – all of which he claims came out of that original 1960s mod scene. There are also features on the likes of Paul Weller and Kevin Rowland too, key players in the mix.
It isn’t a mod book, but it is a book that is worth checking out by anyone with an interest in mod.
As we said, copies don’t come up too often these days and right now one is at just £7, described as being a ‘very good copy’ with some age-related wear. If you can get it at the right price, it’s worth the effort.
