Some time back, Fred Perry announced a new clothing collaboration with the current Tour leader, now the Fred Perry x Bradley Wiggins cycling jersey range is about to go on sale.
Speaking about the collaboration, Wiggins said: ‘It’s a partnership I could only have dreamed of…..I have been a lifelong fan of the brand, stemming from my following and commitment to the mod movement and what I believe is Fred Perry’s unparalleled relationship with subculture. My goal has been to develop an authentic, non technical range of off cycle wear that is inspired by the best of the sport’s unique heritage – something I am hugely passionate about. Fred Perry offered me that opportunity.’
‘I’ll never forget the buzz when I first heard that Fred Perry were interested in working with me and since we’ve started work it’s clear that I’m going to have the chance to execute many of my and collaborate on some great ranges in the coming seasons.’
The finished product, the first instalment in a six-design collaboration, takes the shirt back to basics and back to the past, with the cotton pique shirt offered on a choice of white, black and sky blue, with ‘unique details taken from the vintage cycling jerseys worn by legends of the past’. The jerseys all come complete with ‘GB tape’ around the neckline, retro metal zips and a signature ‘Bradley stripe’ around the tip of the sleeves.
The collection will be available in all Fred Perry Authentic shops and online from tomorrow (12th July), selling for £65 each.

Like these but not sure about the little rear zip pocket.
…cycling tops have rear pockets! Hence the rear zip – I think it is a good touch and shows continuity between the brand and the sport. Exactly what Bradley would have insisted, I am sure
Yes i know that. I used to have campagnolo cycle tops, with no rear pockets, like these below and the style weller wore with in the Jam they had no rear pockets.
I bought a couple of 60’s cycle shirts on auction had the back pockets removed, easily done by a tailor.
