There seems to be a few free ‘fringe’ events running alongside the Vintage by Hemingway weekend, some of which are quite interesting in their own right – like The Avengers big screen event over the weekend of 29th, 30th, 31st July.
It’s to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Avengers, with the big-screen event featuring ALL the episodes that star Diana Rigg back to back ‘in a specially 60s themed Gallery space at the BFI Southbank’.
As well as being able to enjoy watching The Avengers for free, people are also ‘encouraged to dress up as Diana Rigg and enter the Mrs. Peel look-a-like contest’, which will run over the course of the weekend. The winner gets an Avengers Complete 50th Anniversary Collection boxset. Just present yourself at the Gallery between 3pm and 5pm each day, with judging on Sunday evening at 5pm.
Timings: Friday 29 July: 10am-11pm, Saturday 30 July: 10am-11pm, Sunday 31 July: 10am-10pm
