This Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band CD box set is coming soon and packs plenty in for the money.

Demon did something similar a few years back. So if you bought that, you might want to think twice about this one. But if you don’t have Geno Washington in your collection, this is a fairly inexpensive way of doing it if you still invest in CDs.

This is basically the soul legend’s four albums for Pye/Piccadilly Records, dating from 1966, 1967 and 1968, along with singles tracks – A and B-sides, EP tracks and some solo singles from Geno. Pretty much all you need really.

The tracks here have been digitally remastered, with each album in a slipcase and with ‘extensive’ new notes for the releases. Considering what you get, which is over 70 tracks, the asking price of £14.65 seems reasonable. You can pre-order it now ahead of a 4th September 2020 release date.

Note that the live recordings box set from a few years back is still available to buy, as is the earlier Demon Records box set, which is actually cheaper than the new release but with less material featured on it.
