As the title says, the Heavy Soul fanzine or modzine issue 24 has just landed and is available to order online.
Plenty of good stuff promised in it too, including a few things have been flagged up on this site in the past.
First up, there’s an interview with Colin Swan from 80s mod band The Direct Hits, a chat with Paul Orwell, who produced the excellent Tell Me Tell Me 45 a month or so back, along with a piece on Parisian mod band French Boutik and some words with John Reed of Cherry Red Records, who also happens to be the man behind the much-anticipated Millions Like Us Mod Revival box set. Oh yes, Neil Lee also talks about the upcoming Gettin’ To The Point club night in Leeds.
All of that plus some news items and reviews, along with a free compilation CD of mod club sounds. The tracklisting for that is on the Heavy Soul site, which also happens to be the place to order this issue. The package costs £5.50.
