More mod-friendly than mod I'd say, but if you are in the area, the Hoochie Coochie Club in Nottingham is worth checking out.
The launch night is Saturday 20th November in Nottingam City Centre, with a playlist of the best R&B, Rockabilly, Soul and Sleaze apparently. DJs on the night will be Gav Arno (formerly of Pow Wow Club), Tom Lawrie (The Rubber Room), Kev Connellan (No More Doggin / Shoutin The Blues) and Craig Simpson (Berts Apple Crumble Club).
It runs from 9pm untill 3am @ The Central Venue, 310 Huntingdon Street, Nottingham, NG1 3LH. More details at the club's Facebook page.
