I need to talk about the new Icon Range by Mod Shoes, but before I do, let’s look at the Mod Shoes x Gabicci Elroy knit.
Because it’s a gem and deserves a focus all of its own. And it also comes with a back story, which is always nice. During a trip up the Glasgow Weekender and during a bit of vintage clothing browsing, an original of this design popped up.
Now I know Gabicci is a love or hate label for some, but when it does the look well, it really is an impressive piece of knitwear. And this is Gabicci done very well.
It has all the detail without going too far with it. Which is perhaps the line for some people. The colour, the contrasting shade, the button front, the texture and the collar. It’s Gabicci in the 70s into the 80s on top of its game.
So Mod Shoes has teamed up with the for at Gabicci to remake this, but only in limited numbers. So once it’s gone, it is gone. So don’t hang about if you want this hanging in your wardrobe.
As for the fit, you can get it in sizes from small through to 3XL, with the sizing slightly smaller than the usual Gabicci. So if you want to wear something underneath, consider sizing up, But if you wear it on its own, you should be ok to stay as you are.
£110 is the price, which isn’t a mile off the usual Gabicci price.
