Interesting event if you are near the SE11 are of London, going by the name of Mod at the Movies.
It is described as ‘an exploration of the cinematic depictions of the Mod movement’ hosted by Stephen Glynn, who was behind the recent Quadrophenia book.
We are not exactly sure what that entails, but the preview states:
From Soho down to Brighton, we’ll play them all, from documentaries to dance films, with pride of place given to an extensive interview with Franc Roddam, the ‘ace face’ director of the ultimate mod movie, Quadrophenia (1979).
It takes place at The Cinema Museum, 2 Dugard Way (off Renfrew Road), London SE11 4TH, with doors open at 19.00 for a 19.30 start on Thursday 30th October 2014.
Certainly sounds worth a look if you are in the area. Tickers are £8.50 and available here.
