Yes, we have written about this before, as it was a Record Store Day exclusive some weeks back. But now it looks like the Mod Classic 45s box set is getting a full release.
I’ve just spotted it on pre-sale on Amazon, down for a release on 3rd June (which isn’t long off at all) and currently up for pre-order. It looks exactly the same as the one offered on RSD, all the tracks on the 10 7-inch singles seem to match up. Those are:
1: The Small Faces – Tin Soldier / The Downliners Sect – All Night Worker
2: Yardbirds – Heart Full Of Soul / The Pretty Things – Midnight To Six Man
3: Chris Farlowe – Treat Her Good / Benny Spellman – Fortune Teller
4: Billy Nicholls – London Social Degree / P P Arnold – (If You Think You’re)
5: The Birds – You’re On My Mind / Fleur De Lys – Circles
6: Billy Butler – The Right Track / Donnie Elbert – Little Piece of Leather
7: Lee Dorsey – Ride Your Pony / Major Lance – Um Um Um Um Disc
8: Bob And Earl – Harlem Shuffle / Joe Tex – Show Me
9: Spencer Davis Group – Mr. Second Class / The Creation – Tom Tom
10: Chris Kenner – Land Of 1000 Dances / Robert Parker – Barefootin’
All are ‘dinked’ as jukebox singles and the box includes a ‘spider’ centre for play if you want them on a standard deck.
As for price, that’s an interesting one. Amazon has it down for £67.45, which sounds a bit pricey. Not least because we have seen some examples cheaper on eBay. But if you want the Amazon one, you can pre-order now.
