Out this week is the We Are The Mods issue of Record Collector.
Not exactly a full ‘mod’ issue, but the main focus is on the music that has fuelled the mod scene over the decades. According to the pre-publicity, there’s an in-depth feature that has Eddie Piller picking out 51 tunes that have ‘inspired mod in all its incarnations’, from its jazz roots onwards.
In addition, the magazine talks to ‘top mods’ about what it meant to them, with a look at the way that successive generations have reinvented it.
Lots of non-mod stuff too, as you would expect – news, reviews, features and so on across the music spectrum. Basically, worth picking up with the sound of things. It’s out on Thursday 17th August if you want to pop into the newsagents.
