New band: The Perceptions

Note that I independently write and research everything in this article. But it may contain affiliate links.

Perceptions
Formed by ex-members of the James Taylor Quartet and joined by the likes of Snowboy and Speedometer guitarist Leigh Gracie (to name just two), The Perceptions are out to recreate a jazz and funk sound of the late 60s/early 70s.

Indeed, if you love the Blue Note and Impulse sounds of that era (as well as the Acid Jazz sound of the late 80s/early 90s), you’ll love The Perceptions. But don’t take our word for it – check out the tracks on the band’s MySpace page.

And if you like that, you can pick up the album. Introducing… The Perceptions is available now on Freestyle Records. Look out for a review on Modculture in the near future and if you want to see the band live, they’ll be officially launching the album at The Luminaire, London NW6 on Friday 19th December.

Love Modculture? If you enjoy what you read or have benefitted from it and want to help with the ever-increasing costs of the site and newsletter, you can always buy me a coffee at Ko-Fi. Every penny is helpful and appreciated.
