New film: The Boat That Rocked

This may be as cheesy as they come, but at least the soundtrack will be first-rate.

The Boat That Rocked is a new film by Richard Curtis (Notting Hill, Four Weddings, Love Actually) set in 1966 aboard a fictional pirate radio boat called Radio Rock. It is loosley based on the exploits of Radio England and Radio Caroline, illegal radio stations that the UK government tried to shut down.

Stars of British comedy are out in force for this, including Rhys Ifans, Bill Nighy, and Nick Frost. The film is out April 1st, but for now you should watch the trailer below. The accompanying soudtrack album features The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Yardbirds, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, and The Beach Boys, and is available to buy from Amazon here.
