Just finished my first flick through the new Shindig! magazine, with a feature on The Artwoods junping out at me.
It’s a significant one too, with the cult British R&B band being treated to an eight-page feature, focusing on guitarist and founder member Derek Griffiths. That alone is worth the cover price.
But of course, there’s much more too, although whether you appreciate the pieces on Country Joe and the Fish, Big Jim Sullivan and Peter Daltrey (to name just three) perhaps depends on your musical tastes. The reviews are always worth checking out though.
In addition to that, the Shindig! Annual (the fourth) is ready to go as well, described as a ‘bespoke selection of revamped highlights fromShindig! Magazine’s collectable out-of-print back issues’. Think of it as the grown-up version of that Beano annual you used to get every years as a kid.
Both are available now at the Shindig! site or you can get the magazine from decent newsagents.
