Cracking release on the Timmion label – Paint Me In A Corner by Nicole Willis and The Soul Investigators.
Sounding every bit like an original funky mid-tempo ‘60s soul groove (in other words, great production), it packs in the horns, the Hammond and of course, a cracking vocal. The flip is no slouch either, although the slower Where Are You Now is more a track to kick back to, rather than flip out to.
A couple of great sides though, which herald a new (third) album later this year.
