Note that I independently write and research everything in this article. But it may contain affiliate links.

Only seen this offered at one place, which is odd as the On The Scene With Chris Farlowe vinyl release is due out next week.

It’s a Charly issue, but I can’t see anything listed on the Charly site yet. There are other reissues from the same era (Downliners Sect, The Yardbirds, Graham Bond, etc.)—just not this one.

So I am presuming the date is right for release, which is 18th October 2024. It’s part of an On The Scene range of albums, the first of which passed me by purely by accident, And it looked a good one. That being On The Scene With Guy Stevens, which looked at the tunes played by the legendary DJ in his Mod years. Pictured above and still available if you want a copy of that.

This new one keeps the Mod theme going. Volume 2 in the On The Scene series brings together Farlowe’s ‘best-loved Mod/soul songs from the height of his career’. So pretty much a best of or introductory package to the iconic R&B singer.

16 tracks on total, all on single black vinyl and all listed below if you want the full track listing. I can only see this at Rough Trade at the moment, so if you want a copy, that’s the place to look.

It sells for £29.99.
