This is interesting, especially if TSC is your bag. Paul Weller hosts a Style Council listening party on Twitter for one night only.

The ‘listening party’ concept has been introduced and developed on Twitter by Tim Burgess of The Charlatans and has proven popular. Pretty much every night an artist or band takes to Twitter to talk through an album as you play it, adding in some background details, some imagery and other bits and pieces that fans will lap up. Probably a Q&A after as well.

Most of the parties have revealed around indie territory, but the range is starting to grow a little out of that, with a few surprising names taking part. None more so than Paul Weller. Surprising because Paul himself isn’t a Twitter user. We wait and see just how that one pans out. A one-night-only account or someone else’s? Who knows.

Tim and Steve White asked Paul to join in and he said ‘yes’. with the album of choice being Our Favourite Shop. The date for your diary is Wednesday, April 15th and the time being 10pm (UK time).

That’s it really. You probably want to follow @tim_burgess on Twitter for any updated details, but apart from that, just be there at the time.

Of course, if you want to listen to the album, dig out your old copy, find it on a streaming service or grab a copy from Amazon.

What a great idea. As like so many of us young lads in our fifties and growing up with this great artist I always like Paul’s chats regarding his music and what he was thinking/ going through at that moment in time.
