We are keeping The Who theme of this week going with news of the reissue of Pete Townshend’s Scoop albums on coloured vinyl.
These were notable absences when Townshend’s solo albums were reissued earlier this year, something that will be remedied on 18th August.
If you are not familiar, the Scoop series is essentially demos of material either released by The Who or intended for release and never quite making it to disc. From that point of view, it’s fascinating stuff and definitely something to own if you are a fan of the band.
The series first appeared in 1983, with Another Scoop following in 1987 and finally, Scoop 3 in 2001, the latter containing less Who material and more of Townshend’s own material.
All three volumes are heading back to the shelves on coloured vinyl. Scoop is on pink vinyl, Another Scoop on yellow vinyl and finally, the triple Scoop 3 album is on light blue vinyl.
But note that they don’t come cheap. with all available to pre-order from around £29. The release date is August 18th 2017.
