Lego did one, so it’s no surprise to see a Playmobil 1960s Vespa toy range on the shelves for Christmas.
In fact, the only surprise is that Lego got there first with the Lego Veasp. You can still get that right now, and it is heavily discounted if you want to treat yourself (or someone else you know) this Christmas.
But the Playmobil is even cheaper if you fancy that for your kids, grandkids or yourself if you want to add it to your collection or a display. Because deep down, we’re all still big kids.
Playmobil has a track record of creating retro and vintage sets that appeal to adults as much as kids. Everything from James Bond’s Aston Martin from Goldfinger to vintage Mini sets. Because they know who is actually buying these things. Parents want cool toys in the house. And this is pretty cool.
Take your pick from three sets. The first one is a Vespa garage, an 88-piece playset with mechanic figures, a rotating door sign, a movable lift, storage shelves, tools, spare parts, and extra accessories to customise your mini Vespa scooters. Which brings us nicely to the next sets.
You can also choose between two models of the 1969 Vespa 150 Sprint Veloce, both in different colours and with different accessories. You also get Playmobil figures to ride the scooters, too.
The range might well expand in future, but these sets are now on the shelves for Christmas, and to be honest, make perfect stocking fillers for anyone with a love of Vespas.
The garage is the priciest of the three at £39.99, but the scooters are available for just £12.99 and £14.95, respectively.
All are available with fast delivery at the Amazon website.
Note that you can now get a new mini model of a Vespa from Lego too for just £8.99. Although it’s not quite as good-looking as the above.
