It isn’t as straightforward reissue, but essentially you can get Georgie Fame’s Rhythm and Blues at the Flamingo on CD officially right now with bonus tracks.
It was flagged up on the forums, where it was spotted for sale on a Japanese retail site which ships to the UK. That’s the catch. There seems to be one copy on Amazon in the UK, but I can’t say if that’s the new reissue or not. The one from CD Japan definitely is – and still works out at a decent price including postage.
The reissue is from Universal in Japan and is described as a limited release, with the original album plus an additional 10 tracks. In full listing is:
1.Night Train, 2. Let the good times roll, 3. Do the dog, 4. Eso Beso, 5. Work Song, 6. Parchman Farm, 7 You can’t sit down, 8 Humpty Dumpty, 9 Shop Around, 10 Baby please don’t go (all from original album)
11. Parkers Mood, 12. Money( that’s what I want), 13. Madness, 14, Tom Hark goes Bluebeat, 15. Humpty Dumpty (studio version), 16. One whole year baby, (previous four tracks the Rhythm & Blue-Beat EP) 17. Do Re Mi, 18. Bend a little, 19. I’m in love with you, 20. Humpty Dumpty (German language version)
According to people who have ordered (and received) the CD, you can get it shipped to the UK for a total of around £12.50 all in, which seems like pretty good value.
The retail site can be found here if you want to order one.
