Note that these are not functioning instruments, but Ric Arts are Paul Weller replica guitars for your home.
In fact, as you can see from the pictures, they are guitars than can already be found in the homes of Paul Weller (he has two) and Steve Cradock. And if you want one, you can have one or more of these made for display in your home too.
Known as Ric Arts for obvious reasons (the use of the Rickenbacker guitar as a template) this is a tribute to the guitars used by Paul Weller during his time in The Jam.
Each one is handcrafted from 12mm high-density fibreboard and profiled to scale. They are then sprayed to a high standard and dressed with laser-cut acrylics to replicate the pickups, tailpieces, scratch plates and so on.
The decals are also added, to give the authentic look of The Jam days. Rickenbacker-style truss rod covers, tuners and knobs are also added to bring the pieces to life. After that, your replica guitar wall art is complete.
There is no denying that these look amazing and considering the work that goes into each one and the unique nature of them (each one is handmade for you) the price isn’t as high as you might think. Not cheap, but not out of the range of people either.
If you want one, the Ric Arts guitars sell for £250 delivered and the Whaam! guitar is £330 delivered.
If you want to know more you can contact the man behind them. You will find him on Facebook here or you can email him here [email protected]. As they are handmade, you probably need to allow a bit of time for each one to be produced and delivered too.
