Not cheap by any means, but the Rolling Stones Singles Box 1963-1966 is a thing of beauty. And it is out tomorrow.
It’s not cheap because, in the 21st century, vinyl rarely is. And when you pack in reissues of singles from the 1960s with original sleeves and a few extras, that price jumps even further.
But even allowing for that, it’s a lovely thing to own. Unless you have all the originals. In which case it’s hardly worth the effort.
As you probably worked out, this is a set made up of the early part of The Rolling Stones’ career. Eighteen discs, containing UK and US versions of their singles from 1963’s ‘Come On’ through to 1966’s ‘19th Nervous Breakdown’ and including three rare EPs (‘The Rolling Stones EP’, ‘Five By Five’ and ‘Got Live If You Want It!’).
It’s the Rolling Stones at there youthful energetic best. Note that you also get a 32-page book, a set of five photo cards and a full-colour poster, as well as the box to keep them all safe.
All the details of what you get below. If you want a box you can order it now, but you are looking at just under £125.
