If you are still hunting round for bargains, then you might want to check out the John Simons slim-fit Harrington Jackets.
Yes a Harrington Jacket from John Simons, a man who obviously knows all about them, having given them the name ‘Harrington’ in the first place. If you want to know more about that, the man and his role in the history of modern-day menswear, you really need to check out John Simons – A Modernist, which is a rather wonderful documentary you can buy on DVD.
But enough about the past, I’m looking at the present and specifically the Harrington Jacket made by / for John Simons. The jacket, which featured in my Harrrington buyer’s guide, is made in London and available in a natural or navy blue finish.
All the details you would expect, including the button collar, button pockets and elasticated waist and cuffs, with the ket difference from Baracuta being the cut (this one is a slim-fit) and the check lining, which is obviously very different from the Fraser tartan Baracuta uses.
But it is much cheaper than Baracuta right now with the sale on. Usually £225, it is now £150 and available in sizes from small through to XXL.
