That’s right, actual new music. The Small Faces – Live 1966 vinyl and CD release are coming to us via Kenny Jones’ own label.

There is much to love about this release. First off, new music from the band. Who would have thought that was likely? Secondly, it is released on Kenney Jones’ new independent record label Nice Records. And there is a hint of more to come from that particular archive.

Also, you can stream it right now if you have something like Spotify. Yes, it is there already, for you to enjoy in your home. Of course, you might want to wait for the physical releases, but it’s nice having that particular taster.

Anyway, the album itself is Small Faces Live 1966 and it is packed with some incredible live versions of well-known Small Faces songs alongside tracks the band never recorded in the studio! I’m listening to it now and it’s an absolute gem. The band was known for their live shows and listening to this, you can understand why.

It has been curated by Kenney Jones and Small Faces reissue producer Rob Caiger, with the sound restored by Tosh Flood and mastered by Nick Robbins (the team behind Small Faces remasters on Decca and Immediate Records).

The album is available as a deluxe gatefold LP sleeve in PVC wallet and gatefold CD digi-sleeve designed by Phil Smee. Both formats feature music recorded live at the Twenty Club on 9 January 1966 and feature rare and previously unseen photos by Tony Gale, in-depth sleeve notes by Martin Payne (Making Time) full track details, and an exclusive interview with Kenney.

It is released on Kenney Jones’ new independent record label Nice Records and lands on CD (3 September) and as a 2-LP limited edition coloured vinyl edition (5 November).

A strictly limited SIGNED edition with alternate cover artwork reproducing the original gig poster is available from the band’s website only to pre-order NOW. That’s limited to 1,000 copies.

The limited vinyl sells for £29.99 and is available to order here. A CD can be pre-ordered for £10.99 too.

Hi, Dave. In fact, not unreleased recordings, just a polishing/remaster of the live recordings made by a Belgian journalist during a SF tour of France and Belgium in 1966 and already available as bonus CDs in an only French-issued book by him about the band, its reincarnations as Faces and Humble Pie and their impact in the French-speaking fans: https://www.amazon.fr/Smalls-Coghe-Jean-No%C3%ABl/dp/2812708476/ref=sr_1_3?__mk_fr_FR=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&dchild=1&keywords=jean+noel+coghe&qid=1627572162&s=books&sr=1-3
