Limited in number and only available directly, the Small Faces – The Autumn Stone signed vinyl boxsets are available to pre-order.
This is an all-new edition and it certainly doesn’t come cheap, but this expanded version of The Autumn Stone is a limited edition, with a smaller run signed and numbered by both Kenney Jones and Gered Mankowitz if you get in early. 750 of those out of the 3,000 numbered copies.
You probably know of—or own—The Autumn Stone, a retrospective double album and the second compilation album released in the UK by Small Faces in 1969, just after the band had folded. It was something of a rush release and, as such, is ripe for revisiting and enhancing, as is the case here.
The new version, curated by Kenney Jones, has been newly mastered and expanded. It features previously unreleased tracks newly mixed from the Olympic Studios session tapes.
The ‘lavishly packaged’ boxset will be released on Immediate Records under an exclusive licensing deal from BMG to Kenney Jones’ Nice Records. Pre-sales are being offered now ahead of the release date of 28 March 2025.
The new version is on ‘autumn stone and gold’ vinyl and features previously unreleased and rare versions of Small Faces songs, including stripped-down acoustic mixes that highlight Steve Marriott’s distinctive and unique voice.
A 68-page hardback book will contain detailed sleeve notes and track-by-track recording information and be illustrated with rare memorabilia, original artwork and previously unseen photos by Small Faces photographers Tony Gale and Gered Mankowitz.
CD versions are available, as well as a (much cheaper) unsigned version of the set. But if you are a fan, I suspect pushing the best out for the pricier signed versions is something you’ll want to do.
The signed box is £149.99. the unsigned box is £89.99, and if you want the CD, you can pre-order that 3-disc set for £24.99. Track listings below, and all are available to order now.
