This is a limited edition and not cheap, but I still think this soul scene-inspired Adidas Parbold holdall will sell out immediately.

That’s because it is part of the Adidas Spezial range, which is the sought-after end if the Adidas range. When it lands, it tends to sell out. Especially as a standalone release. The rest of the Spezial range isn’t it until October, so everyone will have their eye on one of these.

So they should. It’s a gem. The Spezial range tends to be a mix of classic reissues and reimagined pieces from the archives, with this one sitting pretty much between those two stools.

Officially known as the Parbold bag (after the Lancashire village), it is based on the vintage holdalls that were customised with patches on the northern soul scene of days gone by.

But this isn’t a one-to-one reproduction of a vintage bag. Instead, it takes inspiration from those bags, adding in some custom graphics for some of the patches and going for a monotone finish throughout. Of course, the Spezial logo is also on the rear of the bag.

As for details, well those designs front and bag, along with a branded ziplock and construction from synthetic leather for the outside and polyester for the inside.

Want one? Here’s the tricky bit. They ‘go live’ for sale on Monday 3rd August 2020, with a time expected to be something like midday UK time. At least that’s the details listed on Sneakers n Stuff, which has a product page already live (even though you can’t order yet).

Other stockists will be Adidas itself, along with End Clothing and probably the Hip Store too and likely the Size? website. The price will be around the £159 mark.
