Even if you have the old version, the updated version of Steve Marriott All Too Beautiful book by Paolo Hewitt and John Hellier should still be of interest.
This is actually a revised and updated third edition of the bestselling account of the Small Faces frontman and mod icon, including two new chapters and with the option of having your own name in it.
Of course, that means more meat on the bones, but the story is very much the same. An East End boy who became a teenage star, Marriott was one of the faces of the 1960s as the lead singer of the Small Faces and continued to have success after as a part of the band Humble Pie.
But the success had an effect on his personal life and his health, with Marriott’s career sliding as the years passed and money thin on the ground. He died in a fire aged just 44, leaving a huge legacy and little more.
The new version comes in at 360 pages plus a 24-page black and white photo section. It sells for £19.99 and if you pre-order it via the Helter Skelter Publishing ahead of the summer release, you get your name listed in the acknowledgements and credits section of the book.
However, note that you will have to email the publisher via its website as the shopping cart isn’t working right now due to a redesign.
Note that copies of previous editions do go for more these days, although you can get the current version of the book for the Amazon Kindle for just £4.74.
