I’m always on the lookout on the high street for something with the right look that’s affordable. Like this striped crew neck sweater at Marks & Spencer.
After all, strip jumpers, it’s always been something of a Mod thing. Just look at old pictures of The Who, for example. And the wonderful Art Gallery Clothing isn’t shy about producing a striped sweater either. But this one isn’t courtesy of a ‘Mod’ label. This should be on your local high street. Or the online equivalent.
Yes, this is good old M&S. Now a few years back, Marks & Spencer was a retailer with a strong knitwear game. Perhaps because it kept a very traditional range. A more affordable alternative to John Smedley.
But in recent years they have gone more ‘fashion’ with (for me) mixed results. Of late they have produced a few 1960s-style knits and it looks like a store worth keeping an eye on. Especially with items like this.
It’s a classic and affordable knit. Affordable because this is of a cotton blend construction with one eye on the warmer months. But it has a good look with the bold stripe, crew neck and not a hint of a visible logo.
Three options are available in terms of colours, with the blue standing out for me personally.
All the sizes you need too, with that price tag of £29.50. Well worth a closer look.
