Stuart Sutcliffe on BBC4

Sutcliffe BBC Four is showing a documentary on orginal Beatle (and artist) Stuart Sutcliffe on Monday 12th December at 9pm, entitled: Stuart Sutcliffe: The Lost Beatle.

Sutcliffe died at the age of 21 from a brain haemorrhage. He was an artist of great promise and also one of the biggest influences on The Beatles, providing them with their style and their name, during his brief time as bassist.

The programme features interviews with Stuart’s fiancée, Astrid Kirschherr, and his sister, Pauline. It’s followed by a rare showing of the first Beatles’ movie – A Hard Day’s Night.

A good way to spend a Monday evening I think!
