Thanks to everyone who has sent in a reminder that Street Sound and Style is on Channel 4 this week.
As you might know, we reviewed the film some time back. But now the trailer for Lambert and Stamp is now online.
A sign of how far The Strypes have come in a short period of time, that’s for sure – a BBC4 documentary screening featuring the band.
A treat for the modernists out there who love their jazz – Tubby Hayes – A Man In A Hurry.
I suspect it isn’t going to be up there with the Mods, Rockers and Bank Holiday Mayhem doc on BBC Four, but if you can tune in, the Mods and Rockers Rebooted documentary on BBC One should be worth checking out.
It’s part of the Return of the Rudeboy exhibition, so perhaps you can take that in when you check out Duke Vin and the Birth Of Ska at Somerset House.
We would guess it isn’t going to be the best documentary on the subject (Tony Palmer’s Wigan Casino pictured above probably gets that title), but Living For The Weekend should still be worth checking out if you have any kind of interest in northern soul.
This was flagged up on the forum, with the BBC4 site offering the briefest details. Thankfully, we’ve been able to get the full details of Timeshift – Mods, Rockers and Bank Holiday Mayhem off the BBC this morning.
