Regular readers of the site might recall I did a feature on The Action – In The Lap Of The Mods recently, a VHS-only documentary based around the band’s reunion in the late 1990s. Well, it’s coming out again on DVD.
I made the comment at the end of the review that someone could do everyone a favour and release a budget DVD of the documentary, in light of the VHS being so rare (and in truth, being on an obsolete format). It seems someone with the rights might have been reading – and has done just that.
The reissue, new cover aside, seems to be the same release, albeit one remastered for DVD. Which means the same interviews with the band (two of whom are sadly no longer with us), live footage from the reunion gigs at the Dome and 100 Club plus interviews with fans/mods at the time (including Phil Collins, would you believe).
Rather than try to explain this 75-minute movie further, do check out our feature on the original release, plus some stills from the video.
If you like what you see, you can pre-order the DVD now, priced at £9.99 plus postage. You can order it here.
at last, great news!
