If the four-CD box set wasn’t enough for you, then you might fancy picking up The Action – The New Action! limited edition vinyl too.

Again, this is on the Grapefruit label, which is part of Cherry Red and in the case of this release, it is a limited edition, with just 1,000 copies being pressed.

The idea of the album is to create what would have been the band’s debut album. Of course, back in the 1960s The Action only released a handful of singles. But the plan was to produce an album with George Martin overseeing production.

That never happened, so this is the next best thing. As an added bonus, the fresh discovery of multi-tracks has allowed new stereo mixes to be created for the first time ever, which is what you get on this LP. Or as Cherry Red says, ‘The Action like you’ve never heard them before!’

The track listing is below and if you want it, you have a choice of pre-ordering either from the label or from Amazon, both of whom have stock. It is £18.99 from Cherry Red or £20 from Amazon. But note that on Amazon it is on Prime, so free delivery (if you have it), which evens things out a little.
