Yes it really is that old and you can now order The Selecter – Too Much Pressure 40th-anniversary vinyl online.
I know, for many it might well just seem like yesterday. But time does pass and it has been four decades since this slab of vinyl first appeared on the record store shelves. You might well still have it. Although it probably differs a little from the one being reissued here.
You know the story. The Selecter were one of the key bands of the ska revival in the late 70s, with Their debut release being the AA side of The Specials single ‘Gangsters’ in the summer of 1979.
Originally, they only consisted of Neol Davies and John Bradbury (of The Specials), but a full band was formed by the end of the year in time for their follow up single ‘On My Radio’.
The debut album, Too Much Pressure, was released in February 1980, which included two further singles ‘Three Minute Hero’ and ‘Missing Words’.
This new version is a half-speed cut/remaster of the Too Much Pressure release and includes a bonus 7-inch of the ‘On My Radio’ single. The vinyl sleeve is a 3mm spined sleeve with printed inner and is available in both original black vinyl and a limited clear vinyl.
Both are available to pre-order from Rough Trade right now for the same price, which is £22.99.
