Another compilation from Ace, this time the upcoming Three, Six, Nine! The Best Of Shirley Ellis.

Pretty much needs no explanation or introduction really. This is a selection of tracks recorded between 1963 and 1967 and essentially two dozen of her finest recordings for Congress and Columbia, many written by her mentor Lincoln Chase.

So expect the likes of The Nitty Gritty, The Name Game, The Clapping Song and Soul Time (all in stereo), many other singles and highlights from her In Action and Sugar, Let’s Shing-A-Ling: Soul Time With Shirley Ellis albums.

If you have most of it on vintage vinyl already, it might be a hard sell. But if you haven’t or just want it all on a CD complete with a 24-page booklet with notes and illustrations (including eight previously unpublished photos courtesy of the Sony Music Archives), then this might well be for you.

Available to pre-order now ahead of the 27th April release date, the album sells for £14.52. Tracks below.
