The stores are slowly getting the warmer weather clothing on their shelves, including these Velzy 1960s cardigans at Far Afield.

I have briefly mentioned Far Afield in the past. It isn’t a Mod-focused retailer. Far from it. A lot of what the small, independent maker has is probably more mainstream fashion. But they pretty much always do some vintage-style knits (as well as some decent button-downs, too), so with that in mind, it is a retailer to keep an eye on.

And the new collection includes the designs you see here, which are likely to be of interest if you like the idea of waltzing around this summer in a piece of 1960s-style knitwear that has ‘warm summer’s day’ written all over it.

The Velzy design covers a few different finishes, but for me, it’s the stripes that tick the box. It adds an extra retro layer to a top that already has a strong hint of the 1960s about it.

There are two options when it comes to the striped finish, with one based around the colour green and the other with a brown theme. But essentially the same design, colours and stripes aside.

So a classic short-sleeve, full-button cardigan with a block colour collar, sleeves, placket and hem, seven buttons to the front and what’s described as a ‘classic’ collar.

Each one is made of 100 per cent organic cotton, and the fit is described as ‘true to size’. But do check the size guide before ordering to see what that means.

£95 if you want one of those.
