I was surprised by the reaction to this on the social networks. Personally, I cringed a little when I saw this mod-themed insurance advert, but others seem to like it.
You can make your own mind up, but it’s definitely ‘cheese’ from AXA Insurance, whether you like the execution or the sentiment. This ‘nostalgic’ view of mod is probably how mod is generally viewed by those outside the scene – and perhaps a number of those in it. Either way, the extreme reactions to this probably sum up just how difficult it is to pinpoint mod down in 2013. For some it’s all about nostalgia and keeping everything down to a base level, for others it’s about digging deep. Be interesting to see how it all goes.
