A film that has to be seen to be believed is on Talking Pictures TV in the UK this week – What’s Good For The Goose.
If you haven’t seen it, let me briefly explain this one to you.
Norman Wisdom (yes that one) goes to Southport for a banking conference. He wanders off, heads into a beat/psych club and falls in with ‘the kids’ who are watching The Pretty Things in the club. He then gets sold on the lifestyle, turns all ‘psych’ and has a fling with one of the girls (played by Sally Geeson) and….well, you’ll have to see the film for the rest.
Utterly bizarre, not least because of the lead character (his last lead role in a movie), the setting and the fact that The Pretty Things are playing live in it. If you want more, there is a review on Cinedelica of the DVD, which was released a few years back.
If you want to see it on TV, the film shows on Tuesday 3rd May at 11:55am. You can catch the channel on Sky, Freeview and Freesat. On Freeview it is channel 81.
