Although I don’t publicise them as much as I did, the Modculture Forums do still exist and it is still a vibrant community.
The forums were once the heartbeat of the site, but this was some years back, before the days of social media.
When I restarted the site around 2010, Facebook was probably hitting its height and a number of the people who once used the forums were now having the conversation on that platform.
With that in mind, the new version of the site launched without a forum. That was a contentious decision but in hindsight the right one as it allowed me time to concentrate on improving the site overall. The traffic over the years that followed certainly backed up that decision.
However, a number of people still wanted a forum rather than social media, so a few years ago I restarted the forum, but in a very low key way. Basically, I didn’t advertise it and I didn’t link to it from the site. It sits as a separate entity.
As a result of that, it isn’t free to join, you need to email me to ask to join to keep the community selective and the conversation civil. I know it got a little wild back in the day, but times have changed and the current forum is a very friendly forum.
You can find the current Modculture forum here – and if you want to join, drop me a line at the site and I will look into it.
Of course, the chat carries on elsewhere too, either in the comments here or on any of the social media presences of Modculture. You can see links to them on this page too.
