It's not out for a while yet, but You Really Got Me by Nick Hasted looks to be a promising book on The Kinks.
According to the pre-publication write-up, the band biography features original interviews with Ray Davies, Dave Davies and Mick Avory, plus Chrissie Hynde and others close to the group. Sitting alongside that is a detailed breakdown of the band's career – the music, the US success in the '70s as well as the in-fighting in the band.
The publishing date is 6th June via Omnibus Press, but Amazon are already doing the pre-orders for the 352-page book, with a price of £14.96.
