Nothing quite splits opinion like the classic loafer, something like the Bass Weejun Larkin Loafer in fact.
For some, it's classic bit of mod-friendly footwear, those ivy league undertones making it a timeless classic for both casual and formal wear. Others hate its bulky looks, not to mention the tassles and slightly old-fashioned feel. I'll leave it up to you to decide which camp you belong to.
If you're pro-loafer, Bass Weejun is the name to go for – and you pick up these in a polished black or burgundy online, priced at £85. See over the page for an image of the burgundy version.

Have been a devoted fan of the Bass Weejun since my first pair as 15 yr old aspiring mod at my high school in california in the mid 80s. Have worn and loved them ever since. Though for me, its all about the penny loafer. I haven’t worn the tassle in 20 years.
